More pets were used for humor, in this case, an unsuspecting beagle. I'm sure Penny (the dog) will be thrilled to know she helped get a good laugh or two out of Sara and Julie.
So now that I've had cats and dogs utilized in this little endeavor, which critter produces the bigger laugh? I think I'll have to give a slight edge to the cats. But only just so. I mean, in the right hands, a pet rock could be just as effective.

There is nothing I love more than making Julie laugh, EXCEPT maybe how ridiculous I look while laughing! Dave, you're awesome.
