Day 97--Glandular Disorder

It is a gland.

But from what?

Day 96--"You're on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up..."

Everything I want to say here would probably give away the subject. So I shan't say anything more.

Day 95--Take on me, take me on...

I swear that if you think about it, the title actually works as a clue. So have fun!

Day 94--The Spine

Yeah, so I like the idea of 'mystery week.' So that's what we're doing around here.

I'll post the answers at the end. I'll try and have a somewhat vague clue in each title, but that's all you'll get from me.

Have fun with this one.

Day 93--Tower Defense

I don't think I'm going to tell you what this is.

Do you know what it is? Have you figured it out yet?

Day 92--Build a bridge out of her!

I love bridges, but don't get to shoot them, since there's very little space to pull over and park on most bridges. So that kinda sucks. But I thought I'd try a while-driving shot with the fish-eye today. I think it turned out well, don't you?

For those curious, it's the bridge going over the Ohio river just outside of Paducah.

Dave

Day 91--Kogane

Sometimes you get halfway through the day and realize you haven't taken a picture! So it's convenient when your friends have pets.

A pretty name for a pretty dog, wouldn't you agree?

Dave

Day 90--West Port

I ate luncch on Friday at West Port. As I was walking back to my car I pointed the camera up and got a shot of this....um...thing. The composition is just the way it happened to turn out. Kinda nice when things work out like that, eh?

Day 89--Yard Work

My neighbor is in the process of reseeding his front yard, and to do so, he had to kill off everything he already had growing. So it was a little weird to come home from dad's last week and see his grass going brown in the middle of May. I suspect that by this time next week he'll be tilling, so it'll look even weirder. Whatever works for him, though.

Day 88--All Strung Out

Can you imagine if piano strings had to be changed like guitar strings? I imagine that would be a real hassle.

Dave

Day 87--Hoodie

Why don't they make cars with hood ornaments anymore? If you don't drive a Mercedes or Jaguar, it seems like you're pretty much out of luck.

And that just isn't right.

Day 86--Jam Session

I bought a lot of strawberries last week, and instead of eating them all in one sitting, opted to make some jam instead. And, because I'm crazy like that, opted to can it. In the end it might have been overkill, since I only made enough jam for one jar.

But in the future, I can start preserving other stuff. Which is good.

Day 85--Fishy

I get to fish-sit this summer, as The Brother accidentally headed for Montana without Cambridge (sp?). The cats don't seem to care that an appetizer is swimming in the living room, which is weird. But that's alright.

It's hard to gauge the emotion of a fish, but he (she?) seems pretty content in my living room.

Day 84--More George!

For all of you wondering when I was going to post another picture of everyone's favorite ball of orange fuzz, wonder no longer!

Shown here in a rare moment of action. He's napping at the moment, which is more normal.

Dave

Day 83--Down for the Count

Our cutter at work unceremoniously died a week or so ago. We had some techs out on Friday to take a look at it. I don't think this belt had anything to do with the problem, but it was there, and so was my camera.

Prognosis on the cutter doesn't look good, so I guess we might be getting a new one pretty soon, unless we want to cut bookmarks by hand (not fun!).

Dave

Day 82--Put the Spurs to 'im

It's something Alton Brown says when high heat is needed for cooking purposes. Maybe it makes more sense in the context of the show.

Day 81--Bowled Over

Bowling is hard to shoot, if you ask me. All of the good shots require standing out in the middle of the lane or in the gutters, because otherwise you wind up with backs of heads. And who wants that in a sports shot?

But this artistic stuff is a lot easier.

We won't talk about my scores last night, because they were pretty wretched.

Day 80--Clouds

It was stormy this morning, and the result, when all was said and done, was this really cool bit of cloud cover. The picture doesn't do them justice, really, as they were moving in a very fluid manner, almost like they were alive. Very cool stuff.

Of course, I think the sun has come out as I write this. Weather. Sheesh.

Dave

p.s. When I started this project, never did I think that one of my pictures would elicit a Paris Hilton reference. How exciting!

Day 79--Just a Portrait

Sometimes the faucet makes things interesting.

Or maybe I was bored. Your call.

Day 78--Berries

One more trip into the world of food.

I bought about 14 pounds of these at the store today, so I'll have to make good use of them before they go bad.

Thoughts?

Dave

Day 77--Band Scramble

We didn't win. But we did have a hell of a good time. So that, I think, is all that really matters. There's a certain thrill and rush of excitement from playing music on stage that few things can match. So for that experience alone, I'm glad I did this.

Obviously not our band. The band here is....Fuel for Fire, I think. Their lead singer was quite the dynamo. I believe they came in second, and I imagine she was a big reason for that.

Lighting at Off Broadway was tricky. I spent all night trying to find something that worked. I got to use the fish-eye in its first concert setting, and I think it has potential, especially when I can get close like this.

Day 76--Pizza

Yum.

Dave

Day 75--Lovely Beverage

I've always liked that Coke still sells those glass bottles. Not much in there, but from an aesthetic point, it works.

Day 74--Sammich

Man, I love grilled cheese sammiches.

Dave

Day 73--All Choked Up

Kinda vicious looking, isn't it?

One of the more time-consuming foods I've ever dealt with, though not as bad as a pomegranate. Please note the tortillas waiting in the wings.

Day 72--Stacked

Best reason to eat Pringles?

The chance to make like a duck, of course.

Oh, fine, they taste good, too.

Dave

Day 71--Scotch Bonnet

Welcome to Food Week, friends. True this was supposed to be last week, but there's a very good reason I didn't do it last week. And that would be "I forgot." So apologies all around.

I've never used a habanero before. I do know they're pretty damn hot. I'm also excited about spending a mere $.09 on this at the store tonight. Since tomorrow is the Fifth of Mayonnaise I'd make some tacos, and through this little guy in for some extra heat. We'll see how that goes.

Photo taken in my fridge a la Good Eats.

Dave

Day 70--Perfectos

Fish eye + Perfectos uniform = awesome.

And it makes me look huge! Or maybe like a rooster?

Dave

Day 69--Drums

Busy weekend=no time for posting. But rest assured, the pictures were being taken.

I love the way the sunlight looks coming through and kitting the kit. I was hoping to catch some of the individual beams, but it didn't quite work out that way. I still think it looks nice.

And by the ringing in my ears, they be loud, too.

Day 68--Practice

Band scramble practice!

(if you can't tell from the picture, we rock like no one's business)
