About 5 years ago, I started taking pictures of the theatre productions at DeSmet. Not sure how many shows I've done now...at least twenty, I think. Anyways, I always enjoy it--the shows are enjoyable, despite any flaws they may have. And the chance to see free shows is nice.
And I can't argue with some of the visually appealing scenes I get, especially during the musicals. All that dancing and gadding about lends itself to this kinda thing very well.
So this year's musical is Godspell. It was their first full run with lights and music, I think, so it was a little rough in spots. But it was still amusing, and had the curious effect of really making some stuff from the Bible seem real, if that makes any sense. I think seeing, well, the word made flesh, if you will, added something to stuff I've read a lot, but didn't always attach any life to it.
So this shot is from one of the many songs. The name escapes me. Sorry.
